    Position Title: Receptionist

    Location: Missenden Abbey Conference Centre and Hotel

    Job Description:

    Missenden Abbey Conference Centre and Hotel is seeking a professional and courteous Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for guests and visitors, the Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive impression of our establishment.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Welcoming Guests: Greet all guests and visitors warmly and ensure they feel welcome and valued upon arrival.

    2. Check-In and Check-Out: Efficiently handle the check-in and check-out process for guests, including issuing room keys, processing payments, and providing necessary information about the facilities and services available.

    3. Reservations Management: Assist guests with making reservations, modifications, and cancellations, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Maintain an organized system for managing reservations and room assignments.

    4. Customer Assistance: Provide information about local attractions, restaurants, transportation, and other services to guests. Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests, both in person and over the phone.

    5. Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative duties such as handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintaining guest records, and processing paperwork accurately.

    6. Cash Handling: Handle cash and credit card transactions securely and accurately, reconciling payments at the end of each shift.

    7. Maintaining Lobby Appearance: Ensure the reception area, lobby, and other public areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.

    8. Security and Safety: Monitor the premises to ensure the security and safety of guests and staff. Report any suspicious activities or incidents to the appropriate authorities.

    9.Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments such as housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage to ensure seamless guest experiences.

    10. Problem Resolution: Handle guest complaints and concerns efficiently and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.

    Requirements:

    1. Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not required.

    2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    3. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

    4. Proficiency in using computer software and basic office equipment.

    5. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

    6. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    7. Knowledge of hospitality industry practices and procedures is an advantage.

    8. High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
