Full time office based

Monday - Thursday - 5pm

Friday - 4pm

23 Holidays + Bank Holidays

4 Years credit control experience required.
Responsible for ensuring timely cash collection across the region.

Strong financial analysis and excel skills are desired for this role.


This role will involve:

  • Monitoring sales invoices from the point posted by branches on ERP, to received by client, cleared for payment and cash received.
  • Understanding invoicing issues and working with our surveyors, branch and regional commercial managers to resolve queries which prevent cash collection.
  • Analysis of aged debts and customer receipts to ensure debtor day and cash collection targets are met.
  • Ensuring clear lines of communication and subsequent resolution of outstanding problems.
  • Actively considering and chasing levels of work in progress, invoicing and credits throughout the month to ensure a consistent pipeline of cash receipts.
  • Working with local teams to improve invoicing accuracy (reduce number of credit notes) and maintain associated data in ERP (billtocustomers, reporting dimensions).
Administratively you will be expected to assist with the following:

  • Liaising with the Accounts Assistant who allocates cash (forwarding remittances, confirming allocations, checking payments received).
  • Update of expected receipt dates on our debtors 'Hit List' / ERP system. This tool is used to forecast upcoming cash collection and is updated on a daily basis.
  • Send statements from ERP or collate from debtors list manually as required
  • Prepare regular aged debt progress reports, analysis and updates for Regional Management and Head Office Finance Team
  • Discuss aged debts and cash collection locally and nationally with relevant parties to allow timely, prompt cash collection
  • Holiday cover for other regional/group credit controllers as required.
  • Management of customer rebates and framework fees calculation, confirmation and analysis thereof.
Internally you will develop strong regional relationships with surveyors, branch and regional commercial managers and directors.

You will also work closely with fellow group credit controllers and the wider group finance team.


This role will report to our Head of Finance (based in Airdrie) with a dotted reporting line to the Regional Director.
