We want to help our residents live as independently as possible and our Senior Occupational Therapists have a vital role to play in that.
We prevent people going into hospital unnecessarily, support then when they come out and provide quality reablement to keep people as independent as they can be.
We are mostly home based when not visiting people, but we have a fabulous, revamped office space near the centre of Bracknell.
You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training...To work with people, including their advocates and carers, to coordinate the identification of their needs, undertake comprehensive assessments of individuals including those with diverse or complex presentations to develop person-centred SMART Goals and support plans designed to meet needs in ways that maximises independence, choice and control, and are legal and affordable
To work as part of the multidisciplinary team, participating in the development of services and other staff, providing direction and assistance to support workers, other members of the team, and students.
Take an active part in your own supervision and appraisal and to supervise and appraise allocated staff in accordance with the departmental supervision policy and council's appraisal policyTo be responsible for your continuous professional development, ensuring your practice is up-to-date and evidence based, attending all mandatory training and specialist training where appropriate.
Work in a flexible manner, to provide Out of Hours cover – you will work one late shift a week – 12 noon – 8pm, and one weekend in 6 ( with time off in lieu over the working week)An inclusive and social working environment with a variety of staff networks
