About the role:


The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the preparation of timely, high quality health economic evidence to support a wide range of medical devices for both national reimbursement submissions and effective market access, and to prepare health economic evidence necessary for successful endorsement of the company's products and successful interventional guidances by National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and/or the other Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies in the UK.

You will be expected to assist in the development of health economic market access solutions in order to communicate the value for money of medical devices to the NHS.


Main responsibilities will include:


  • Preparation of health economic case for new and existing products
  • Assist in development of UK strategic pricing position for new products
  • Early Health Economic evidence generation identification
  • Market research to understand the economic burden of disease segments in the UK healthcare system
  • Business case and budget impact/cost consequence model development as part of the UK Market Access team
  • Handling reimbursement and NICE consultations/submissions
  • Customer facing interviews and support for the field sales teams in the use of Health Care Economic Information (HCEI) approved material

About you:


  • Reporting to the Market Access Director this role is open to post graduates (MSc or PhD) through to very expert Analysts. It's a great opportunity to get quality experience with a leading firm working within the Medical device industry. You must be familiar with Health economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) methods and excellent communication skills.
  • First degree in economics, statistics or life sciences
  • Post graduate qualification in health economics
  • Health economic experience within the healthcare, ideally within the medical device industry
  • Detailed understanding of the role of health economics within the NHS and medical device industry
  • A comprehensive understanding of the NICE and the other HTA workstreams and submission processes
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of economic evaluation concepts
  • Understanding of evidencegeneration principles for local data requirements
  • Familiarity with HEOR research methods and use of tools such as Embase, Ovid, Pubmed, RightFind (Essential)
  • Individual experience in building budget impact/cost effectiveness models from inception to completion
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Record of delivering projects on time, within budget using high quality project management skills
  • Proficient in use of Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
  • Use of Veeva Vault process desirable for internal compliance and material approval
