- Member of Site Leadership Teams and partner with the Business teams in pursuance of their targets and objectives.
- Maintains Financial Control of the Plant by providing accurate and timely reports concerning plant operations, designs and implements systems and procedures; performs periodic audits; maintains adequate records of original entry and preparation of financial statements which accurately depict the Plants operations and performance.
- Develops and presents annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and economic analysis as required.
- Presents financial information to business teams and site leadership team.
- Evaluate all plant transactions according to accounting procedures.
- Determine and maintain all accounting principles and processes and ensure compliance to local and US GAAP regulations.
- Establishes and maintains costs systems for the BDI Surgery Leeds plant.
- Oversight of Inventory management in line with budgets and forecasts including Excess & Obsolescence preparation and reviews. Performing Annual Physical Inventory.
- Acts as custodian of company assets, maintains fixed asset register and depreciation schedules in accordance with corporate policy and IRS requirements.
- Reviews and analyses capital expenditure proposals and coordinates CB2 activity for submission to the appropriate level.
- Coordinates with corporate risks and UK insurance brokers to ensure adequate cover for plants assets and employers liability.
- Liaises with internal and external auditors to ensure year end audit is completed in an accurate and timely manner and coordinates with BD Oxford over the consolidation with BDUK statutory accounts, VAT matters etc.
- Controls all financial transactions including advances travel expenses, invoicing and payments (A/P & A/R).
- Ensures Payroll is processed.
- Cash Management, forecasting and reconciling Bank accounts.
- Liaises with US Ops Finance for reporting and analysis of manufacturing variances etc.
- Support any and all BDI Surgery Finance Operations initiatives and share best practice with other Controllers within the Surgery Operations Finance team.
- Carry out all other duties as assigned within reason of request.
- Broad manufacturing experience of similar position in a plant.
- Experience in a senior role.
- Experience in building, owning and delivering budgets.
- In depth Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP regulations.
- Experience with SAGE software (ERP)
- The successful candidate should be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), coupled with demonstrable applicable experience (Preferably within the Manufacturing Industry).
