    About the role

    It's an exciting time at AXA Birmingham, with a new leadership team and significant investment secured to transform our service delivery and grow our footprint with our broker partners. As part of this, we're looking for a talented individual to join our business development team on a permanent basis.

    As Business Development Manager, you're someone who is passionate about growing profitable relationships with brokers. Within this role you'll use your skills and experience to build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and be visible in the insurance market.

    At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, such as part-time or condensed hours, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

    What you'll be doing:

  • Prepare, design, implement and review agreed development plans.
  • Undertake profit reviews to identify areas for improvement and lead conversations with brokers to agree actions to optimise profitability.
  • Plan, forecast and set the operational targets to achieve the strategic development plan.
  • Review progress of initiatives against plan and take remedial action as appropriate.
  • Communicate internally within AXA the nature of the brokers' business, the London marketplace and the extent and potential of the relationship.
  • Prospect potential new opportunities and markets. Identify new deals, assess feasibility and project manage the implementation of new deals.

  • Ensure realisation of profitable relationship with your panel to include an appropriate remuneration package and credit control standards.
  • Proactively seek broker feedback on AXA performance and delivery.
