    Integration Engineer- Build Certainty Team
    Derby, Warrington, Manchester


    We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Build Certainty Integrator, to be involved in an industry leading, cutting-edge project for a new type of power station.

    "Big picture" integration and problem solving across the design and delivery of the Rolls-Royce SMR power station focusing on build certainty and on-time delivery. Identifying areas of concern and leading and integrating improvement initiatives.

    Driving the use of standardisation and modularisation, two of the SMR projects primary tools for achieving Build Certainty.

    • Derivation of guidance and requirements to enable the delivery of Build Certainty.
    • Delivery of cross-functional projects to enhance the embedment of Build Certainty, including design reviews.
    • Embedment of the Build Certainty and Standardisation philosophies to reduce the risk in the plant design and delivery models.
    • Identifying areas of the plant design that present high levels of risk against the Build Certainty principles, including the delivery and operation of the plant, e.g. construction schedule.
    • Identifying aspects of the construction sequence that present high levels of risk against the schedule.
    • Identifying aspects of the plants logistical flow that present high levels of risk against the schedule.
    • High level oversight and integration of improvement projects and modifications aimed at reducing risk against the construction schedule.

    Criteria 1:
    Career Experience


    • Have operated in a relevant highly regulated industry such as Nuclear, Aerospace, Oil and Gas or Similar.
    • Have a strong track record of integrating solutions to cross functional problems.
    • Experience in working in ambiguity and problem solving.
    • Experience in challenging the status-quo.

    Criteria 2:
    Technical Experience


    • Experience of delivering elements of a complex product to a defined schedule.
    • Have experience or awareness of design in relevant engineering disciplines such as Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, System Design, Civil Engineering or Construction Sequencing.
    • Have practical knowledge of relevant engineering or efficiency tools such as Systems Thinking, Lean Six Sigma or Robust Design.
    • Be capable of producing accurate and engaging supporting documentation including formally written reports and summary presentation slide packs.
    • Demonstrable learning agility to be able to quickly pick up new, unfamiliar, topics to be able intelligently challenge aspects of the topic.

    Criteria 3:
    Interpersonal & Communication Skills

    • Be able to form effective working relationships quickly with multiple stakeholders.
    • Be able to communicate technical information efficiently and effectively with cross functional stakeholders.
    • Be able to communicate appropriately with stakeholders at different levels within the company.
    • Be able to raise legitimate questions or challenges respectfully and tactfully when necessary.
    • Communicate effectively face to face, digitally via audio or video link and via written media.

    Criteria 4:
    Management & Budget Responsibility

    • The role reports into a team lead and engineering manager but will require influencing and leadership skills.
    • Have the ability to lead work packages of cross functional stakeholders to solve a problem.
    • Operate on own initiative and independently but knowing when to seek guidance from team lead or manager.

    Criteria 5:
    Wider Experience


    • Practical experience of complex construction or assembly processes, such as a civil construction project, manufacturing plant or factory production line is beneficial.
    • Experience of improving product delivery and reducing delivery risk in any relevant application or industry is beneficial.
    • Experience across the lifecycle of a product (from conception, detailed design, delivery, operation and decommissioning) is beneficial.
    Pay and Benefits

    We anticipate paying a salary of between £40,000- £52,000 plus:
    • Bonus
    • Performance related bonus of up to 12.5%
    Benefits Allowance - £2,200, enabling you to create a bespoke package
    Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
    Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days
    Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
    Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
    £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases

    Our Screening Process
    Due to the safety regulations within the nuclear industry, applicants will be required to participate in following additional screening:
    • Obtaining Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
    Satisfactory completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
    Satisfactory completion of a basic financial probity check
