Description
A long established engineering company based in Sittingbourne is looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to join their friendly team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The role of quality control inspector is to ensure that all Castings produced by the company meet the quality requirements of the customer and the organisation.
This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.As a hands-on mechanical inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out general inspection functions both visual and dimensional, including the correct and proper use of mechanical measuring devices, carrying out Dimensional FAIRs and completing AS9102 Form 3`s.
Along with calibrating the mechanical measuring devices and maintaining the calibration database.Working 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday - 07:30 - 13:30 Friday, 38 hours paid per week, you will ideally have a time served apprenticeship.
Locate datums on parts and measure dimensions such as angle`s, arc and radii using a combination of aids such as parallel bars, gauge blocks, v blocks, sine bars and precision measuring instruments such as a digital height gauge.
Report quality problems or findings to the Quality Manager and follow up to ensure corrective action has been put in place.
Qualification in mechanical engineering.Previous experience in a quality/inspection role.
Good computer and communication skills.
