    WHAT TO EXPECT

    You will be part of the team testing the next generation of electrified propulsion systems for Jaguar, Range Rover and Land Rover products. We are at the forefront of development in hybrid and full electric powertrains, aiming to deliver electrifying performance and peerless refinement. We are looking for individuals who are excited about our electrified transformation and can bring their passion and experience to our growing team.

    You will be working as an Electric Machine Methodology Lead Engineer within Powertrain Test Operations (PTTO) where we utilise state-of-the-art test facilities to develop, verify and sign-off component, sub-system, and system level targets.

    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


    Plan
    o Develop instrumentation and data management plans.
    o Interpret design and network schematics of prototype units and translate into rig-based testing.
    o Ensure continuous workflow by reviewing and preparing simulations for upcoming tests.
    o De-risking through planning and preparation

    Deliver
    o Develop data acquisition and compilation systems and standards for data quality.
    o Develop automation strategies and tools to enable the operational team to achieve the operational targets.
    o Understand the state of the art for automation and data measurement systems for Emachines and develop vision for the test facility.
    o Develop processes for instrumentation setup and installation.
    o Work across various test rigs to ensure data consistency.
    o Deliver correlation work packages across test beds.
    o Ensure facility utilisation targets and testing gateways are achieved.
    o Structured Problem-solving definition, apply and own 8D, Ishikawa methodologies to resolve issues and breakdowns.

    Automate
    o Develop automation to deliver automated testing and data analysis solutions in order to accelerate development and data interpretation.
    o Use of automation to improve the repeatability and quality of data.

    Output
    o Develop tools for measuring and monitoring data quality across the test field.
    o Maintain and up to date documentation.
    o Look for novel approaches to challenges & communicate lessons learned.
    o Present results of 8D investigations and follow up plans for Permanent corrective actions.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience


    • Engineering degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

    • Practical knowledge of data analysis using tools Example: CANALYZER, Matlab, Excel, Concerto, MDA.

    • Practical knowledge with instrumentation and measurement systems especially Precision high speed electrical measurement systems

    • Experience with 8D methodology.

    • Experience in doing spectral analysis for fault finding.

    • Knowledge of electrical phenomenon's like Electromagnetic noise and its potential effects in data quality

    • Experience in using scripting for data analysis using matlab, python etc.

    • Experience in hardware or software testing, development & debug.

    • Experience in structured problem solving and data analysis.

    • Capable of reproducing clear and concise reports to present to JLR seniors and JLR suppliers.

    • Knowledge of testbed automation systems
