The Role of 1st
Team Soft-Tissue Therapist


Brentford Football Club is enjoying the most exciting period in its history and we're looking for an accomplished Soft-Tissue Therapist to join our team.


Working within the Medical Department, alongside a multidisciplinary team of practitioners and reporting to the Head of Medical, this individual will be responsible for the development and delivery of soft-tissue therapy and associated modalities to our 1st Team and high potential senior Academy players.

In addition, they will take a leading role in the development and delivery of relevant recovery modalities for the club.


We are looking for a pro-active individual with a forward-thinking and problem-solving attitude, and who seeks to utilise their skills and experience to raise the levels of support offered to our players.


Main Accountabilities

Training Ground

  • Delivery of softtissue therapy to 1st Team and highpotential senior Academy players aimed at optimising players' capacity to perform.
  • Support Doctors and Physiotherapists in providing elite level injury prevention and rehabilitation treatments as required.
  • Take a proactive role in the investigation of, and delivery of, players recovery modalities both on an individualised and squadbased level.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep of the training ground medical treatment space, including replenishment of consumables.
  • Maintenance and management of stock, including ordering of all medical supplies and items of equipment though key medical suppliers.

Match-days

  • Provide prematch softtissue therapy to 1st Team squad players for all matches, home and away.
  • Stay overnight at the team hotel on the evening prior to 1st Team matches and provide softtissue therapy to players as required.
  • Ensure that all equipment and consumables required for matches are checked, maintained/ordered and packed.
  • Take an active role in postmatch optimal recovery modalities for 1st Team players.
  • Take a lead role in the prematch setup of medical equipment at stadiums/venues.

Tours/Training Camps

  • Provide softtissue therapy to 1st Team and high potential senior Academy players on all UK and overseas tours.
  • Take an active role in the provision of optimal recovery modalities for both training, matches and travel whilst on tour.
Ensure that all equipment and consumables required for tours/camps are checked, maintained/ordered and packed.


General Medical Dept Accountabilities

  • To maintain up to date treatment records using the Kitman Labs/PMA medical records system.
  • Ensure individual qualifications, training and CPD requirements are kept up to date and in line with any applicable regulations.
  • Uphold the highest levels of vigilance with regards to crosscontamination between players, of equipment and consumables.

Continued Professional Development

  • Take responsibility for personal continued professional development (CPD) and keeping an uptodate portfolio of achievements.
  • Take an active role in delivering regular departmental CPD sessions for full
- and part-time Medical staff.


General Club Accountabilities

  • To ensure compliance with all relevant Club policies, including health and safety policies and with specific reference to the data regulations.
  • To ensure compliance with all Club and regulatory requirements related to safeguarding, and to ensure the Club's safeguarding processes are followed in the event of any safeguarding concerns.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical, and social requirements.
  • To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional image at all times when representing Brentford FC
