We are recruiting for a HSE Advisor to work for a leading steel fabricating company based in Dudley.This company is well established with 30 years of experience in supplying enclosures that house electrical devices and they continue to invest in modern technology and equipment.
This HSE Advisor role is a permanent full time position working Monday to Thursday 8am-4.As HSE Advisor you will report into Operations & Facilities Director, creating and embedding a strong health and safety culture with quality focus on site supporting 70 staff.
You will implement general safe working practices, safe working practices (SWP) and risk assessments for all areas. Liaise with external H&S expert (Croner) to adopt and embed strong safety culture and encourage and communicate this across siteImplement working practices for monitoring, correcting and improving safety concerns, near misses, accidents and ensure any corrective action requests (CAR) are closed out in a measured, accountable and timely manner
Carry out all training with operator and supervisors in the safety procedures as well as new starters within induction and a visitor's safety induction
Create and maintain a legal compliance register for all QHSE aspects
Conduct and monitor progress of safety training through the online training system
Work with Team Leaders and Managers to investigate any accidents and near misses, document and escalate any concerns including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Communicate any necessary safety information across site and produce monthly compliance and KPI reports for Management meeting
Carry out and document safety audits and communicate results and corrective actions
Oversee company waste disposal methods to ensure they comply with safe disposal procedures
Previous experience in a Health and Safety Advisor role or similar as a minimum
A HNC or equivalent in Health and Safety disciplines or 5 years + in Health and Safety compliance, preferably IOSH Managing Safely supported
Quality knowledge is advantageous but can be trained later down the line
Must be systematic and methodical, analytical and data driven
Sheet Metal / Fabrication experience.
Experience of root cause analysis using ISHIKAWA (Cause and Effect) Diagrams and 5 Whys (Five Whys) techniques and any relevant experience within this area
