WHAT TO EXPECT

We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished Lead Government Funding Officer, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our Public Affairs realm.

You will support JLR's discussions with government funding bodies concerning existing and new funding opportunities to communicate areas of alignment of the government's industrial policies with JLR's future investment plans including concerning sustainability, infrastructure and technology.

Your mission? To contribute to strengthening the long-term prosperity of the company by matching government investment opportunities to the business's headline strategy and JLR's capital investment plans.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Day-to-day project management of key funded projects, delivering the milestones within the Government funding End to End Process
• Lead horizontal and vertical workstreams, developing expertise, making assessments of funding opportunities and lobbying requirements
• Support the delivery of key workstreams (such as project controls, negotiations or reporting) on large projects
• Support the identification of key stakeholders and approval forums for the specific project or deliverable
• Help the business understand and prepare for key economic, commercial and political events
• Work autonomously and cross-functionally to deliver the answers to specific questions, making clear and concise recommendations
• Support reporting to senior leadership on project progress and gateway reviews
• Engage stakeholders and external partners, representing JLR with professionalism and confidence
• Have a positive attitude and desire to make a difference at the heart of JLR with strong leadership and a team-oriented approach to work

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You will work cross-functionally with other related departments including Finance, Industrial Operations and Sustainability. This includes maintaining alignment with counterparts within Product Engineering for Innovation and University Collaboration funding.

The role of Lead Government Funding Officer would suit a self-motivated, delivery-focused candidate, with a keen interest in the Automotive sector.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential –

• Excellent stakeholder management skills: ability to influence and build lasting relationships
• Communication: excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate complex problems into simple, compelling messages/decision points
• Analytical/problem-solving: intellectual and analytical rigour
• Good understanding of strategy, international relations, politics and economics
• Previous experience supporting funding bids and in project development
• Demonstrable experience in building business cases and interpreting financial papers and statements
• Strong project management skills and experience are essential
• Good knowledge of government funding and incentives legal frameworks – UK, EU & key global territories
