Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position.
Since 1995, our client has been working to improve lives and reduce disadvantage in coal mining communities. Their services make a real difference to people's lives.

Their focus is on providing for former mineworkers and their families most in need through their personal welfare service, helping people with practical and emotional support, benefits advice, advice about coping with ill-health and immobility and providing access to financial support.

They also work to secure the future of recreational facilities in former coal mining communities and work with local mining charities to ensure their services continue.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Build and maintain relationships with funders to enhance understanding of the charity's work.
  • Identify new funding opportunities aligning with organizational priorities.
  • Maintain accurate data records to demonstrate performance.
  • Undertake necessary administrative tasks to efficiently manage grants, including database updates.
  • Produce reports for internal and external stakeholders, including the charity's management teams and funders.
  • Assist in planning and delivering marketing and communication activities to promote funding opportunities and highlight successes.
  • Represent the organization at events and meetings as required.
  • Participate in personal development opportunities, including mandatory training, and identify further training needs.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet service demands, including working outside regular hours and extensive travel.
  • Fulfill other reasonable duties as requested.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience:


Essential:

  • Experience with major funders such as National Lottery, Sport England, central government, and local authorities, as well as smaller grants and trusts.
  • Knowledge of various funders and the ability to assess appropriate opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, producing concise, persuasive narratives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, encouraging teamwork.
  • Confidence to represent the organization with partner agencies, funders, and colleagues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, cooperative with others.
  • Proficiency in IT systems including Outlook, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.
  • Selfmotivated, excellent time management, and organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Flexibility for required travel, occasional overnight stays.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the charity sector.
  • Good education standards and ongoing learning and development.
