    Job Description

    Job Purpose:

    The primary objective of this position is to aid patients using evidence-based and patient-centric principles to evaluate, devise, apply, and assess interventions. These interventions are intended to provide patients with the necessary skills, confidence, and coping mechanisms for independent living.

    Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services, ensuring effective communication and application.
    • Promptly assess referred patients to identify and prioritise their needs, then plan and deliver suitable interventions either individually or in groups. Maintain accurate records of each patient's progress.
    • Effectively manage junior staff.
    • Foster close professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring adherence to Priory policies, statutory regulations, and quality standards.
    • Actively promote Priory therapy services in line with local business plans.
    • Maintain open communication with patients, their families, carers, and purchasers throughout the rehabilitation process.
    • Lead the implementation of new services within the site, sharing best practices with other sites in the area.
    • Ensure services and support provided offer good value for money and support the site's overall objectives.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, accredited by the HCPC.
    • Previous experience working in an Occupational Therapy setting, including within specialised areas such as addictions, neuro-rehabilitation, or eating disorders.

    Communication:

    • Focus on developing and maintaining productive relationships with patients through effective communication, coaching, counselling techniques, and strong interpersonal skills.

    Responsibility:

    • Staff: Assist less experienced colleagues and occasionally provide professional supervision to students and trainees.
    • Budgets & Equipment: Shared responsibility for equipment serviceability and replenishing supplies.
    • Informatics: Shared responsibility for confidentiality, security, and accuracy of patient records, data, and information.

    • All colleagues have a duty to protect and safeguard vulnerable individuals at risk and must be aware of local safeguarding procedures.

    Working Environment:
