    WHAT TO EXPECT

    Working within a team of joining engineers, reporting into the Lead joining engineer, you'll be providing support and assistance with the Coherix 3D inline visions systems which are currently utilised for the inspection of SCA applied adhesive in the Body In White (BIW) process. You will also work with the Engineer to develop our SUPAR adhesive check application.

    In your role you'll:

    · Undertake training in the use of Coherix Predator 3D i-Cite software to enable you to commission, program and maintain the inline vision systems.

    · Undertake training relating to the Coherix hardware, specifically relating to the communication path between the camera and the ABB robot.

    · Assist with the initial commissioning of the Coherix 3D inline vision systems.

    · Work with vendor partners to successfully analyse the applied adhesive.

    · Analyse results of the systems setups, make amendments to the setup and react to any process changes during the various build phases leading up to product launch and beyond.

    · Liaise with product partners (Coherix / Vistalink) to foster and promote a positive working relationship which mutually benefits all parties, enhancing their product and software.

    · Coherix hardware maintenance to work with any warranty issues / communication issues to aid the maintenance department.

    · Investigate the opportunity to use the SUPAR system to inspect weld beads as part of the buy off and in process checking. Review the current capability of the software and work with the team and supplier to evolve this to the client's requirement.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    Ability to transfer your knowledge base in an Engineering industry and transfer best practices into the client's automotive environment.

    You'll preferably have a background in the automation industry working with ABB Robots with a good understanding of the communication between the robot and process equipment, being able to interrogate signals within the robot, PLC & the external equipment. Having a good knowledge of ABB Rapid program structures, particularly advantageous would be an understanding and experience working with the client's modules, to enable fault finding and diagnostic where issues arise. Advantageous to have joining technologies experience, particularly SCA adhesive applications working at a technical level.

    You'll be self-motivated but also a good team player with the ability to listen effectively to others, portraying an enthusiastic attitude and demonstrating passion and enthusiasm to the rest of the team. The ability to take the lead is essential, as is the ability to achieve results by meeting deliverables and commitments. You'll be confident when communicating with people in the project and at all levels of the company with good written and spoken communication skills. Furthermore, you'll be a pro-active problem solver with excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills. You will need to be persistent and able to deal with challenging scenarios working with multiple 3rd parties with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment where deadlines / priorities change, and you need to have the ability to be flexible to meet the business' needs.
