    Description

    We have an exciting new opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join our Building Surveying team in the South West at either newly chartered (MRICS) or Associate level (3+ years post qualification).

    The position will ideally be based in our Exeter Office,
    but with the opportunity of flexible working across our South West offices.

    The successful candidate will be joining our national Architecture and Building Surveying Team, servicing our established existing client base, as well as developing new clients and relationships both internally and externally.

    and historic built assets, predominantly within the rural sector and the great estates of the South West; the successful candidate should have a keen interest in historic buildings and local vernacular.

    Conservation and heritage consultancy

    • Building Surveys and reports (Condition Surveys, Pre Acquisition Surveys, Photographic Schedules etc.)
    • Preparation of feasibility assessments and proposals for adaptive reuse & diversification
    • Project management and contract administration
    • Preparing scheme designs and specifications of work
    • Advising on current regulations and standards relating to building construction and energy efficiency
    • Advising on construction design and management regulations
    • Preparing schedules of dilapidations.
    Member of the RICS under the Building Surveying Pathway

    • Knowledge of traditional construction, working with historic and listed buildings
    • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload
    • Strong written communication and report writing skills with good attention to detail
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Use of CAD (Revit, AutoCAD or similar)
    • The ability and desire to develop client relationships and further business
    • Good understanding of Health and Safety and CDM 2015 regulations
    • Self-motivated and ambitious and able to work as part of a team
    • Full driving licence and own vehicle
