Position Overview:


As a Learning Support Assistant at this Secondary School close to West Byfleet, you will play a crucial role in providing additional support to students with diverse learning needs.

You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that ensures the success of all students.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone or small group support to students with learning challenges.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Support students in classroom activities and help maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable and encouraged to learn.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to monitor student progress.
  • Assist with classroom materials preparation and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Encourage independence and selfconfidence in students to build their longterm success.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of a high school diploma; a bachelor's degree or relevant certifications in education or special education is a plus.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to the success of all students.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and follow instructions from supervising teachers.
  • Knowledge of best practices in special education and the ability to implement IEPs/BIPs.
