Position Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant at this Secondary School close to West Byfleet, you will play a crucial role in providing additional support to students with diverse learning needs.

You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that ensures the success of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide oneonone or small group support to students with learning challenges.
Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Support students in classroom activities and help maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
Foster a safe and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable and encouraged to learn.
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to monitor student progress.
Assist with classroom materials preparation and administrative tasks as needed.
Encourage independence and selfconfidence in students to build their longterm success.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a high school diploma; a bachelor's degree or relevant certifications in education or special education is a plus.
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to the success of all students.
Ability to adapt to changing situations and follow instructions from supervising teachers.
Knowledge of best practices in special education and the ability to implement IEPs/BIPs.
