    NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

    The shift pattern is Monday-Friday.

    We have a vacancies for Band 5 Therapy Radiographers within the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.

    The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre provides an integrated cancer management and treatment service for patients from the West of Scotland and beyond. Facilities are situated in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre on the Gartnavel Hospitals site. Approximately 7200 courses of radiotherapy are provided annually requiring around 88,000 patient attendances. The Radiotherapy Department is equipped with the most up-to-date facilities currently available which include 10 Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, 1 ETHOS treatment machine, 3 CT Scanners, 1 MRI scanner, Eclipse planning system and all are networked via the ARIA Radiotherapy Management System.

    The Band 5 Therapy Radiographer is required to accurately and efficiently plan and deliver radiotherapy and to provide highest possible standards of care and support to patients with a wide range of clinical pathologies and varying presentations. The Band 5 Therapy Radiographer will be responsible for accurate planning of treatment, accurate calculation and delivery of radiation treatment while conducting checks and verification on all treatment prescriptions and treatment field positions. The post-holder is also responsible for the maintenance of accurate treatment records for each patient.

    They will rotate through specialist areas such as pre-treatment, CT simulator and all treatment machines, and with supervision they will assist in the day to day operation of a treatment unit, CT simulator or other area of the department.
