    JOB OVERVIEW

    To maintain plant and machinery in the highest order to ensure availability of plant to the production team at all times.

    OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the project delivery team in the commissioning of the new machinery.
  • Support the production team in developing safe systems of work.
  • Develop robust maintenance plans in line with the manufacturer's specification.
  • Conduct inspections of the plant equipment to identify and resolve issues.
  • Check electrical and mechanical systems of machinery to ensure functionality.
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
  • Monitor expenses and budget for maintenance.
  • Manage relationships with service providers.
  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
  • Ensure health and safety policies are always complied with.
  • What you'll need? PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
  • HND or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years' practical experience.
  • KEY ATTRIBUTES / QUALITIES

    Essential

  • Proven relevant experience as a maintenance engineer.
  • Experience in planning maintenance schedules.
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Able to read schematics.
  • Advanced trouble shooting skills.
  • Understanding of safety equipment procedures.
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Outstanding organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and within timescales.
  • Able to build trust and rapport.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and integrity in all matters.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation and procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Desirable (training can be provided if required)

  • Off-Site Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Facilities Management.
  • PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Is able and willing to work flexibly to suit the needs and demands of the role. This may involve working different hours/days to accommodate shift working and potentially travel away from home if required to visit alternatives factory sites.

    Has a good Knowledge and understanding manufacturing machinery such as CNC machines and saws, with the ability to use skill and experience in problem solving to work things out and apply them to real situations

    Is confident, considered and takes ownership for plant maintenance. Is self-aware, resilient, optimistic and has a collaborative approach to working.

    Has strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities. Has advanced people skills and the ability to communicate to a diverse range of people, as will need to communicate to employees and contractors at all levels.
