Head of BSP Case Management

As Head of Business Sale and Purchase (BSP) Case Management you will own the operational management and continuous development of SJP's industry leading Partner Business Sale & Purchase Case Management Function, within SJP's £1bn Partner Finance function, ensuring efficient and timely case processing of c.

1,000 sales and purchase transactions annually across a growing range of transactions that support the growth and development of Partner businesses and enable Partners to realise the value of their practices.


What you'll be doing:


  • Lead and inspire the BSP Case Management team to deliver firstclass transaction management across a wide range of transactions, within established SLA's whilst ensuring great Partner service and experience.
  • Lead the execution of all Partner Business Sale & Purchase transactions (BSP, MBI, Sophisticated, Partial and Critical cases with value of £200300m per annum), utilising the Partner Finance workflow system and other data insights to drive effective operational management decisions re case prioritisation, allocation and critical issues etc in order to optimise efficiency and SLA achievement.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for high profile BSP transaction disputes, or other service issues ensuring fair and appropriate management of Partners and resolutions in a timely manner, whilst ensuring SJPs interests are protected and financial exposure/reputational risks are minimised.
  • Ensure transactions are delivered in accordance with the relevant SLA's, policies, standards and aligned with agreed budgets and targets.
  • Ensure positive and highly effective communication and operational integration between BSP Case management and the other teams within Partner Finance who together deliver the endtoend BSP process, including Lending, Operations (Valuations and Client Transfers), Finance and Consultancy. Evolve and share appropriate process and Case MI with other Partner Finance teams to enable effective teamworking.
  • Take ownership for communicating BSP Case Management operational data at key management meetings internally, enabling effective joint operations management.
  • Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence and drive the delivery of operational improvement initiatives, cross skilling and agile working.
  • Sponsor and promote a clear focus on Partner service and develop and implement service improvement plans (e.g. obtaining and acting on Partner feedback, reduction of errors through root cause analysis, quality assurance and quality control measures and training).

Who we're looking for:


  • Broad knowledge of Operations, Commercial/Financial, Transaction and People Management disciplines.
  • Experience of volume transaction processing within a financial services environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of business sales and purchase transactions and associated transaction structures, legal documentation, purchase agreements and other contracts, tax treatments and the key elements in the process of implementing both asset and corporate sales with the BSP proposition.
  • Experience of operational data, organising, analysing and rationalising such data to deliver good data driven decisions that impact operational effectiveness.
  • Operations and people management/resourcing experience is crucial.
  • Experience of continuous improvement and operational standards.
  • Experience of developing and using management information to advise decision making.

Special Requirements:


  • As a line manager you will be the main point of contact for your individual team(s) and responsible for the development and implementation of business continuity plans and procedures.
  • Operating in a multifunctional team you will bring mature interpersonal and strong relationship skills to ensure the Case management function works in a highly effective and integrated manner with other key partner Finance teams.
