Assistant Accountant (9 month fixed term contract)**The focus of the Assistant Accountant role is the delivery of high quality financial and management information for the management accounting team.

Prepare and post monthly journals including payroll postings, accruals and prepayments and specific cost adjustmentsProduce payroll reconciliations
Understand business impact of own processes to maintain accurate accounting
Assist in the monthly variance analysis and commentary production providing insightful analysis in a clear and concise manner.
Develop good understanding of the business revenue streams for Perm, Contract (including Employed Contractor) and all other income.
Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts with a focus on agreed key accounts.
Assist with the production of the monthly Risks and Opportunities schedule.
Produce clear audit trails in own work to meet required internal standards.
Understand accounting procedures and processes and be able to discuss potential impact with other areas of the business.
Support with larger deliverables or take lead on simpler group and local audit deliverables.
Submission of completed balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation to group and local auditors.
Ensure all year end and half year payroll reconciliations are provided in accordance with the agreed timetable.
Good knowledge of financial and management reporting preferred.
Good written and oral communication skills, able to communicate financial matters to non-technical experts.
Analytical skills with previous experience in creating and writing commentary for management desirable.
Intermediate command over MS Excel – Advanced level is desirable.
Experience of SAP ERP/Dynamics 365 (desirable but not essential)
CIMA/ACCA/ACA part qualified Accountant or equivalent, or qualified by experience desirable.
