The Marvell College requires a Specialist Learning Support Assistant
Cognition & Learning (SPLD specialist)
With immediate effect
Salary:
Grade 4 SCP - 7 £21,575 - £22,369 pro rata
Actual salary - £18,158 - £18,826
Hours: 36.25 per week - term time only plus 5 days
Fixed term contract for one year in the first instance.
The Marvell College requires a specialist learning support assistant with responsibility for Cognition & Learning (SPLD specialist) to work under the direct instruction of senior pastoral leaders to support children to ensure they learn and achieve well.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of supporting learners with SEND, which has led to a significant improvement in the quality of provision and outcomes for pupils.
Successful applicants must be willing to complete a specified qualification in the area of need - this will be directed by the Deputy Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher (SENCO).
**_Applicants must be able to:
_**- _Articulate a compelling vision for their lead practitioner role within the college_
- _Communicate a clear understanding of the personal values and characteristics in which their understanding of SEND is rooted_
- _Describe a detailed analysis of the barriers to learning students with SEND face, with particular reference to the area of need they would specialize in_
- _Demonstrate an awareness of research/evidence-based approaches to supporting learners with SEND._
The Marvell College has gone from strength to strength since receiving a "Good" Ofsted report in July 2019. Since then, the school has been oversubscribed every year.
