    The Team

    Established in 2001, Defence iQ and IDGA have grown to become one of the world's largest defence events and media organisations. We are uniquely positioned to engage with and support the international defence community via our digital platform and global conferences, all of which are underpinned by rigorous research into global defence policy, acquisition strategy, capability development and military leadership.

    We collaborate with government, military services, traditional and non-traditional defence industry, S&T and academia who, by contributing to our events and publications, help us to generate thoughtful debate about the future of our industry.

    Our objective is simply to provide our members, event attendees and industry partners with a hub of commentary and analysis on contemporary military strategy, defence acquisition, and technology development so that they can keep pace with rapid technological development, evolving threats and operational need across Air, Land, Maritime, Security and the Joint Domains.

    Key responsibilities and accountabilities

    As Marketing Manager, you will have complete bottom-line responsibility for creating and executing innovative, international marketing plans deploying online and offline direct marketing tactics.

    • Formulating and executing targeted marketing strategies for your portfolio of international events
    • Forging mutually beneficial marketing partnerships with associations and publications
    • Utilitising a full range of online marketing tactics, including social media, SEO and PPC
    • Nurturing customers up the advocacy ladder by engaging them with tailored marketing copy
    • Preparing all promotional copy and collateral
    • Establishing close working relationships with our exhibitor clients
    • Establishing effective working relationships with speakers and sponsors to gain their buy in to promote our events through podcasts, webinars and webcasts
    • Working closely with other internal departments to achieve project objectives
    • Hitting agreed targets for direct revenue generation and lead generation whilst closely managing the event marketing budget


    Desired skills and Experience

    • Educated to degree level 2:1 or equivalent working experience - ideally within marketing or communications
    • 2+ years' marketing experience preferred, ideally gained within B2B publishing, conferences, events, exhibitions or a membership organisation
    • Experience with digital marketing (SEO & SEM, social media etc.)
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written & oral communication skills
    • Commercial mindset – Experience in managing budgets and ROI for maximum profit gain
    • Is a creative problem-solver, detail focused and analytically inclined
    • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
    • Self-driven, results-oriented, with a positive outlook
    • Keen for new experiences, responsibility and accountability


    Training & Development

    To enable you to achieve your potential, extensive on-going training will be provided throughout your tenure. Regardless of your position everyone is provided with an initial 3-month induction and training plan followed by advanced development.
