Portfolio Transformation Change Lead, you'll play a key role in helping us define, build, and scale new businesses that give the AA a long term and exciting future.

This is the job:

As our Portfolio Transformation Change Lead, you will report directly to the AA-X Chief Product Officer. You will be responsible for translating our strategy into credible plans, working with the AA-X CEO & leadership team.

Your role will be forward looking, focussing particularly on the next 3-18 months, defining what needs to be done to achieve our bold and ambitious plans.

You will be passionate about the opportunity and have a natural talent for bringing simplicity to a complex environment.

You will define and visualise our roadmap, based on an agreed strategy, to create alignment with a range of stakeholders.

You will identify and manage the workstreams and plans required to deliver against this roadmap, sequencing the build and scaling of multiple products in parallel.

Bringing people together will be a core strength, and you will work daily with commercial, marketing, product, design, data, and tech teams.


Working within AA-X, you'll have all the support of a big corporate environment with the opportunity to do things a bit differently to achieve our ambitious plans.


What will I be doing?:


  • Structure and guide AA-X, focusing on 318 months out, translating strategy and investment into credible plans. The 03month period is owned by the scrum master.
  • Overseeing and working with the leadership team, scrum master and other stakeholders on the following:
  • Development of the overall roadmap for AA-X, covering product, tech, data, B2C GTM and B2B GTM. This will include multiple products, at different stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Managing a pipeline of new concepts and products through a structured process
  • Identifying and communicating simple and precise success metrics via the OKR framework
  • Identifying and overseeing high level workstreams to deliver against the above plans this will include teams within AA-X, group functions and third parties
  • Providing simple and precise communications to the team to deliver against our plans, with an understanding of how to work effectively with different personality types operating in a fastpaced environment
  • Demonstrating prioritisation based on impact, timing, ease of execution, strategic alignment
  • A partner to the AA-X CEO & CPO, identifying issues in advance and making credible recommendations where possible
  • Working with Finance and the head of departments to ensure the relevant performance targets are in place, and communicated across AA-X.
  • Helping the leadership team to preempt future resourcing needs across each team to ensure adequate ongoing capacity to deliver against our roadmap.
  • Trusts the functional experts to deliver, but knows the signs that show when they're not and works with the CEO & CPO to address
  • Stakeholder management, including the group CEO, GEC, board/ sponsors
  • Risk management and mitigation
  • Special projects e.g., working with external parties
  • Working with Finance and HR to ensure plans are adequately resourced and funded, or changed
  • Supporting reporting and board presentations

What do I need?:


Technical experience:


  • Strong demonstrable experience either in programme management, strategy, or product management roles, with demonstrable experience of translating strategy into credible roadmaps and delivery plans
  • Experience delivering complex programmes, ideally within an agency/consultancy/ incubator/startup business launching new parallel products
  • Exposure to working within a fastpaced evolving environment, within a tech or data led business
  • Experienced in matrix managing multiple functions across a groupwide business
  • Significant stakeholder management experience possessing the ability to influence, challenge and persuade Senior Leaders, Executives and Directors

Personal characteristics and skills:


  • A natural communicator with great energy to inspire and motivate others
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills the ability to be able to powerfully visualise plans and roadmaps is essential
  • A structured thinker, with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail & accuracy to get the best out of teams
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset to create and drive forward strategies
  • Is a passionate & driven whilst also collaborative, with a natural
