    The role:

    The role of the Data Governance Analyst is to support a strong data operation and to help build and maintain a strong Analytics capability for all users.

    Through the Data Insights operating model, you will champion the analytics agenda across the business, ensuring a consistent approach in management reporting, embedding insights into processes and meet cost improvements through more efficient use of data.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategy and Planning

    • Document data mapping logic.
    • Monitor data quality metrics and remediation of data quality issues
    • Maintain controls on data quality, interoperability, and sources to effectively manage corporate risk associated with the use of data and analytics
    • To develop and maintain strong operational and strategic relationships with key internal customers within the business

    Policy, Process and Procedures

    • Monitor and act on exceptions found in data quality reports.
    • Ensure business insights derived from accurate data are consistent and representative of the true state of the business
    • Identify where derived insights can make a step change in insurance performance – risk management, claims, fraud etc. and execute to make that change happen.
    • Work with the business, clients, and other 3rd parties to identify key data requirements to drive the analytics agenda
    • Work to Data Governance principles, policies and programs for stewardship and custodianship of data and analytics, in concert with legal, information security, and corporate risk and compliance offices
    • Demonstrate behaviours for the appropriate use of data within changing security requirements, privacy needs, ethical values, societal expectations, and cultural norms
    • Chair Data Governance Analyst meetings to proactively track and steer remediation of data quality issues

    Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus

    • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets business expectations.
    • Work with SMEs across business functions to define requirements and product specs.
    • Work closely with IT relating to the design, development, and implementation of software programs, cloud-based solutions and assignments will be key responsibilities.
    • Be hands-on and agile, demonstrating a "roll up your sleeves" mentality and willingness to remain proactive in communicating with internal stakeholders

    Technical Performance

    • Provide creative insights, implications, and recommendations about current and future data trends and areas for improvement, focus or investment. Ensure that commercial ambition is balanced with effective and rigorous cost management
    • Manage data issues and data dictionary solutions.
    • Contribute towards the delivery of analysis, management information (MI) and reports to the executive team to ensure effective decision-making including understanding of risks
    • Keep abreast of industry news and trends and perform regular market research to analyse the competitive landscape to proactively address competitive threats, inform the product roadmap and anticipate market trends and evolving client needs
    • Involved in the testing of outputs

    Skills & Experience:

    • Specific professional qualifications (and broad business qualifications) at the level of degree or equivalent.
    • Experience in Data and Business analysis tasks.
    • Experience working with Agile teams and project delivery
    • Qualified within own personal discipline, with extensive post-qualification work experience to include:
    • Working with large third-party vendors/ external suppliers.
    • Strong track record of technology delivery.
    • Interpreting business strategy and translating this into IT strategy.
    • Project management/co-ordination, including managing multiple projects and complex projects to quality, time and budget.
    • Bring immense curiosity; challenging the status quo and stirring innovative approaches to existing processes and operations
