    The Stakeholders Specialistwill work with the Design team within the Portfolio Design team.This is a full timeposition.

    Tasks

    Whatare the key responsibilities of therole

    The role will include but notbe limited to:

    1. Provide leadership within theorganisation in terms of environmental and social safeguards;

    2. Ensure that Revalue projects meet exceptionalstandards of environmental and social integrity;

    3. Work with Revalue staff and partners to buildand maintain their capacity.

    The StakeholderSpecialist will offer expertise in assessing safeguard risks anddeveloping appropriate management frameworks conducting socialimpact assessments and leading participatory consultationprocesses. They will have experience working with government bodieslocal communities international organisations and otherstakeholders in developingcountries.

    Leadership andstrategy:

    • Provide leadership andvision for Revalue on safeguards and relevant aspects of majormultilateral safeguard frameworks (e.g. REDD SES).
    • Work with the regionalteams and project proponents to integrate relevant SDGs intoproject design.
    • Developapproaches to empowering marginalised and vulnerable communities inproject design and implementation.
    • Develop Revalues approachto safeguard development for our projects and programs includinghow to apply quantifiable mertrices under the CCB.
    • Perform a range of planningadvisory and research functions related to designing Revaluesapproach to ensuring safeguard processes are implemented with highintegrity.
    • Leverageprofessional networks to build and maintain relationships withcurrent and prospective NBS projects in the portfolio.
    • Maintain positiverelationships with clients and development partners throughproactive and professional communication.
    • Position Revalue to be atthe cutting edge of advancements in the field. Quality projectimplementation and oversight:
    • Work with project partnersto develop community baselines and monitor approaches.
    • Provide direction andadvisory support to regional staff and project partners to ensureaccountability for project excellence.
    • Identify and elaborate FreePrior and Informed Consent (FPIC) consultation plans for a broadrange of stakeholders including the most vulnerable anddisenfranchised.
    • Conductresearch studies to identify pressing social issues associated withdeforestation and degradation.
    • Assess the social impactsof proposed NBS strategies propose mitigation approaches wherepotential negative impacts are identified and look to maximisepositive and multiplicative impacts.
    • Lead quality assessment andcontrol of projects against high integrity standards by developingquality assurance and control procedures and ensuring theirimplementation.
    • Maintainhigh level of rigor on analyses including close adherence to thelatest best practices and recommendations from the internationalcommunity.

    Buildingthe capacity of Revalue staff andpartners:

    • Build the capacity of the Revalueteam and project partners in informing designing interpreting andapplying safeguards to our projects.
    • Serve asan ambassador for Revalue to a diverse range of audiencesemphasising our unique capabilities in addressing environmental andsocial issues.
    • Coordinate with regional staffand project proponents to ensure cooperation on crosscutting issuesandinitiatives.

    Requirements

    Whatdo we expect fromyou

    • Masters degree orPhD or a minimum of 7 years experience in social sciences climatechange working on safeguards in the land use sector or a relatedfield.
    • At least five years of experienceworking with tropical countries with technical and/or operationalissues related to safeguards and land use or relatedissues.
    • Experience in the development of AFOLUprojects and/or programs in the voluntary and/or compliance carbonmarket (e.g. VERRA) is highly desired.
    • Excellent oral and written communication inEnglish and another language (preference for Swahili Spanish BahasaIndonesia Portuguese or French).
    • Experience insurvey design (including sensitive information techniques).
    • Strong qualitative and quantitativestatistical skills.
    • Evidence of applied ethicstraining.
    • Demonstrated experience in researchand public communication on social issues.
    • Excellent problemsolving teamworkinterpersonal skills are required.
    • Ability andwillingness to travel internationally.
    • Demonstrated ability to present in front of anaudience.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicatecomplex concepts to a broader audience.
    • Drivenby a sense of purpose and a desire to make a tangibleimpact.
    • Evidence that you can work in remoteteams are a selfdriver with a willingness to take initiative andcommitted to continuous improvement and highperformance within acomplex and fastgrowing sector.
