Active Schools aims to provide more and higher quality opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity before school, during lunchtime and after school, and to develop effective pathways between schools and sports clubs in the local community.


The role will include:

  • Build a sustainable volunteer network for Active Schools within the schools and wider community.
  • Provide opportunities for all children to participate in sport and physical activity and enable creation of pathways from the schools to the wider community.
  • Increase participation for vulnerable / disadvantaged children & young people by adopting a targeted approach.
  • Ensure the effective integration, planning, management and delivery of Active Schools programme including our core offering.
  • Embedding the Fife Active Schools 'Young Leadership Pathway' within the cluster and supporting a wide and diverse range of young people into these roles.

The Person


You will be educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline (and/or General Teaching Council (GTC) registered) and / or possess equivalent experience, working with children in an education, sport, health, leisure and / or recreation environment.


Experience in management of projects in education, sport, health, leisure and / or recreation is essential, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop programmes and projects from conception to implementation.


You will be able to identify good practice and promote the role of physical activity incorporating sport, play and wider health & wellbeing practise as a contributor to community development.


It is essential that you are able to show good organisation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both individually and part of a wider team.


Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
