    Job summary

    Band 2 -Floating Switchboard Operator - Stepping Hill Hospital

    18 hours per week, Main hours will be 3pm-7pm over four days (unless evening or night shift requires cover)

    The above hours are core hours, however the successful applicant will be required to work flexibly within the rota tocover for sickness or annual leave on the evening and night shifts , preferably at short notice .

    We are based at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, the post holder will be required to work as part of a friendly team providing a full comprehensive service for the Trust covering all aspects of the Switchboard. NHS and Switchboard experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given to the successful applicant.

    Main duties of the job

    We are looking for someone who promotes excellent customer service skills which will help support the smooth and efficient running of the switchboard which will enable good first impressions to our staff, patients and visitors to the hospital. Flexibility is required to cover shiftsat short notice.

    All staff must be able to answer all calls in a clear and concise way ,Especially when putting out any Emergency calls over the internal Bleep system .
