    Job PurposeChangan is undergoing a major transformation to electrify the powertrains of our passenger car business.

    The UK R&D Centre is at the forefront of this work to develop the future generation of electrified, connected, and intelligent powertrains.

    We are looking for an experienced e-drive and power electronics controls engineer to join us to lead our work in this area.

    Person SpecificationBachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic or Control System Engineering5 + years' experience working with real-time embedded control systemsBackground in Electrical Drive control software developmentExperience of developing and testing control algorithms in MATLAB/SimulinkKnowledge of power electronics topologies and simulation techniquesKnowledge of electrical drive topologies and their drive controlExperience with data logging and calibration tools (INCA, CANalyzer, CANape)

    Experience of using automotive communication protocols:

    CAN/ CAN FDExperience of using and applying automotive software qualityDirect experience is essential with preferably some of this within the Automotive IndustryExperience of applying system engineering methodsStrong numeracy and literacy skills, including the ability to write clear documentationExcellent communication skills and able to work as part of a cross functional teamA working knowledge of Functional Safety Standard ISO26262 would be an advantageExperience of working with hybrid and battery electric vehicles would be an advantageExperience of undertaking DFMEA at System and Sub-System level, with good logical reasoningOrganised and able to prioritise effectivelyMain Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupporting the development of e-drive and power electronics control systemsCapturing and analysing requirements from different stakeholdersDesigning control algorithms & strategies (using MATLAB/Simulink) and autocode generation of production intent codeDesigning system diagnostics and CAN communication specificationsDevelopment of diagnostic and safety monitoring strategiesDeveloping validation tests for electrical test bench, HiL and vehicleProvide expertise for investigations and problem-solving activitiesSupporting system and hardware DFMEA and functional safety analysisManaging the technical delivery of suppliersOther features of roleRole based in UK with core CAUK team.

    Occasional travel to other CA sites, on development trips and to visit suppliers is a requirement.
    Must be eligible to work in the UK .
