    Description

    Here at Futures, we have been asked to recruit a Maintenance Engineer for a nationally recognised food manufacturer based just outside of Shrewsbury.

    The site has undergone significant investment, it is a very high performing site, the maintenance engineers are involved with ongoing projects and continuous improvements on a daily basis (Not just reacting to breakdowns all day)

    Job details:
    Maintenance Engineer

    Salary - Up to £52,000
    Shift – 4 on 4 off permanent Night Shift pattern
    Overtime – Paid at 1.5x or 2x for anything over 48 hours that week.
    Benefits – Standard benefits package but an unrivalled training budget (Average spend of at least 7k per engineer per year)

    Location – Just outside of Shrewsbury.
    The role - Maintenance Engineer
    React quickly to breakdowns (considerably less often than most maintenance roles in food)
    Planned Maintenance (They actually do this properly, don't just check a couple of bearings 5 min before production)
    CI/Project work (Each Engineer always has 1 or 2 of these projects on the go)
    Lots of root cause analysis of breakdowns, they don't want to keep going back to the same breakdown for the same reason
    Ensure working areas remain clean and tidy, Worksop stores etc.
    Comply with health and safety and food safety legislation.
    Working through their CMMS system (Shire) and logging jobs etc accurately.

    Extremely high-tech manufacturing environment with the latest equipment available in their field.
    Organised Engineering team with a proactive culture (+ a decent sized budget to give you the tools/parts required)
    Qualifications/Experience required

    The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of HNC/NVQ to level 3 in an Engineering related discipline, you will also ideally have completed an apprenticeship or an equivalent formal training programme in installation and maintenance that includes relevant practical experience.
