    Description

Refugee Action exists to work with refugees and people seeking asylum who've survived some of the world's worst regimes. We are a national charity with more than 40 years' experience of empowering people who've survived some of the world's worst regimes to secure the protection and support that they need to live with dignity and respect and build a new life in the UK.

This exciting new role, initially funded for one year, will sit within the Asylum Crisis team, at Refugee Action, as part of a wider partnership response to the refugee homelessness crisis, alongside the Boaz Trust and the Migrant Destitution Fund, and funded by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

The postholder will deliver an early action approach of providing information briefings and group sessions, to asylum seekers in contingency accommodation, addressing needs related to the asylum process, asylum support, the move-on process and integration and well-being needs. This group work will be delivered alongside casework support enabling a synergy across the two models of early action and complex casework, across both legal literacy and accommodation and support issues, with an overriding goal of homelessness prevention.
