Job Purpose
To effectively manage the general maintenance of the hotel building and its services are operating to an optimum level.

To ensure the highest quality of product both external and internal - with key emphasis on standards, cost controls and efficient planning.


Main Responsibilities/Key Tasks

Ø Perform all routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance.

Ø Order and monitor fuels, lubricants and repair parts.

Ø Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms_._


Ø Attend to all types of repair and maintenance work in the Hotel premises, including any new additions / extensions to the Hotel or any other properties maintained by the Hotel.

Ø Repair and maintain guest room facilities, light facilities, furniture and equipment.

Ø Assist with the implementation of the hotel's preventative maintenance system and repair log system.

Ø Record daily service work, including maintaining individual replacement costs along with time/task labour hours cost.

Ø Participate in instructing colleagues on the proper operation, safety procedures and cleaning of all equipment.

Ø Establish and maintain proper parts inventory levels.

Ø Implement and carry out maintenance program in accordance with established timeframes.

Ø Carry out and document regular inspections of plant and equipment in computerised system.

Ø Ensure that appropriate files are maintained and resources kept for future reference.

Ø Complete daily reports outlining work undertaken for the day.

Ø Explore and incorporate environmentally friendly initiatives.

Ø Efficient and effective use of recycling methods.

Ø To be fully conversant with all systems relating to plant, equipment and utilities.


Ø To ensure that all personnel receive a departmental induction within the first week of employment and attend a company orientation within their first four weeks of employment.


Ø Ensuring recruitment, training, development and staffing levels are as required, whilst demonstrating a management style that is both 'hands on' and strategic.

Ø To be able to act with initiative, planning for the future and possible consequences. Being pro-active in getting things done and exceeding expectations of both guests and colleagues where possible.


Ø To be responsive to any calls out of normal working hours - as your knowledge and expertise are essential to resolving faults etc.


Ø Familiarise yourself with our Core Values TITANIC which link to the desired behaviours that we expect all our employees to display.

Ø To have a thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law with regard to the following company regulations:

  • Fire regulations and procedures
  • Health and safety regulations
  • First aid procedures


Ø To be a good example of the company dress code and appearance standards - ensuring that your team fully comply with these.


Ø To undertake special duties or work outside the normal daily/weekly routine but within the overall scope of the position at the request of the Maintenance Manager/Deputy General Manager/General Manager.
