- Designing projects in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridgeworks and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works
- Preparing schemes for tender typically using the NEC3/4 Forms of Contract
- Assisting with the commercial and financial control of your project
- To demonstrate excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing at a general and technical level
- Supervising graduate engineers and technicians
- Supervision of and responsibility for members of the team, including programming and allocating work and assisting in the training and development of staff, setting goals and monitoring their performance
- Post qualification experience in the design of all aspects of highways and civil engineering design and construction
- A working knowledge of standard highway and civil engineering specifications, conditions of contract and methods of measurement

The team supports infrastructure owners and operators to better manage, adapt and develop their assets to address the engineering and technological challenges of modern transport infrastructure and delivers the infrastructure that connects people, places, and supports thriving economies.
The role undertakes a range of technical aspects required for project delivery including feasibility, concept design including buildability and value engineering, detailed design, preparation of tender and contract documentation, invitation of tenders and providing design support during construction works as part of a team.
The successful candidate will have a key role in managing, organising and motivating a team of engineers and technicians to deliver a variety of projects covering a range of complexities.
