- Promote a positive and proactive culture of health and safety within Halton Housing using behavioural safety techniques including recognising and rewarding good practice
- Lead, motivate and manage a team of people, including setting measurable performance targets and effectively managing through a performance management process
- Develop effective two-way communication methods including developing toolbox talks to be delivered by managers
- Be responsible for the review, development and implementation of the organisation's Occupational Health and Safety Management System
- Work closely with other managers to develop and implement systems for the control and monitoring of contractors and contract compliance
- Previous experience in a similar role with strong technical knowledge of health and safety issues affecting the social housing and construction sectors
- Minimum Chartered Member of IOSH and Minimum NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent or working towards
- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and regulation in Health and Safety within housing
- Ability to confidently communicate and influence across the organisation
- Ability to constructively challenge and give/receive feedback
