This is a great opportunity to join a growing independent ecological consultancy based in North Oxfordshire.

Due to ongoing success and business expansion, the team are looking for Senior Ecologists with several years of experience to join on a permanent basis.

What you'll be doing:


  • Organising, overseeing, and undertaking field survey work for flora and fauna, including Phase 1 habitat surveys, Bats, Badgers, Great Crested Newt (GCN), Reptiles, Otters, Water Voles, Nesting Birds, and more
  • Work with a range of wellestablished highprofile clients in the public and private sectors. Conduct background research for clients, preparing fee proposals, manage and analyse field survey data, and communicate with clients.
  • Working with an experienced team to support and advise on a range of projects, from local to nationwide. The projects are focused on integrating ecological habitats with new build developments.
  • Maintaining high standards throughout, whilst constantly advancing your own skillset through the internal training programme.

What experience you'll need to apply?
This role will be a great fit for you if you have:

  • A degree within a relevant sector, such as Environmental Science, Ecology, Land Management (or similar) that highlight a strong academic ability and record. Additional postgraduate qualifications are of interest.
  • Proven experience working for an ecological consultancy or closely related field, such as public sector and/or conservation bodies.
  • Experience producing high quality and concise written reports.
  • A detailed understanding of British wildlife legislation and policy.
  • A broad understanding of British flora and fauna, with comprehensive experience in identification.
  • Knowledge and experience of conduction Phase 1 habitat surveys.
  • Knowledge and experience undertaking protected species surveys, mitigation, and licensing.
