    OCU Modus (part of the OCU Group of Companies) are looking for an experienced Site Manager with Highways/ Utilities experience to join the team, you will be required to cover multiple locations London based. The Site Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Reporting to the Project Manager or Construction Manager, the Site Manager is responsible for managing all on-site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage construction projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
    • Ensure that all work on the site complies with health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and implementing safety measures to protect workers and the public.
    • Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure that construction activities meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Monitor project costs and expenses, preparing cost estimates and tracking expenditures to ensure the project stays within budget.
    • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring that they deliver work to schedule and meet quality requirements.
    • Supervise and manage site staff, including direct employees and subcontractors, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
    • Maintain regular communication with the client or project owner, providing updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
    • Keep accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, site inspections, and any changes or deviations from the original plans.
    • Identify potential risks and hazards on the site and take proactive measures to mitigate them, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
    • Ensure that all work on the site complies with building regulations, planning permissions, and other legal requirements, obtaining necessary permits and approvals as needed.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in the construction industry with Highways/ Utilities experience with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
    • A degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant professional certifications such as SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) are advantageous.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of construction professionals.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving, with the ability to think creatively and adapt to changing circumstances.
    • A solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to generate reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
    • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring that work meets quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines.
