    Job summary

    The Imaging department at the world renowned Addenbrooke's (Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) is recruiting.

    We are looking for a motivated Radiographer who would like to further their career as a Band 6 Neuro Radiographer.

    In the Neuro Interventional Radiology, Neuro Theatre and CT Scanning departments, you will be involved in highly specialised imaging techniques unique to CUH, and in some instances, the world. Due to our close links to the University and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, we offer the opportunity to work with the most up to date technology and imaging protocols and to be at the forefront of new research and development techniques.

    CUH are in the process of developing a full regional 24/7 thrombectomy service. As part of this, a second state of the art bi-plane angio room within the Neuro IR department has been opened.

    As a member of the Neuroradiographer team, you will be required to carry out a wide range of CT and Interventional procedures, working both independently and as part of our multi-disciplinary team as well as being required to participate in the out of hours service provision.

    You will have DCR (R) or a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography and proven participation in CPD and you must have current HCPC Registration.

    Experience in cross-sectional imaging and interventional radiography is desirable but not essential; full and comprehensive training will be provided.

    Main duties of the job

    To assist in the effective provision and maintenance of the Neuro Radiology Service, including CT Scanning, Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) and Neuro Theatres.

    A welcome subsidy of £1000 is available to all Band 5 and Band 6 Nurses, Midwives, ODPs and Radiographers and Band 5 Orthoptists taking up substantive employment with the Trust.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • DCR (R) or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Current HCPC Registration
  • Desirable

  • Evidence of further study in this particular field
  • IV Cannulation qualification
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Extensive experience in all general Imaging modalities
  • Desirable

  • Specific experience in Neuro Angiography / Theatre / CT
  • Experience working with PACS / EPIC systems
  • Participation in QSI accreditation
  • Experience of delivering tutorials / teaching
  • NHS experience
  • Knowledge
