PAH Sales & Technical Specialist


Location UK (remote)

Job Purpose


The Precision Animal Health (PAH) Sales & Technical Specialist position is a highly specialised role that is primarily aligned to Zoetis' genomics portfolio, acting as technical and sales support to our external partners, e.g.

NMR, World Wide Sires, etc.


To be effective in the role, the individual must have a solid understanding of all aspects of dairy management including financial drivers of dairy profitability, calf rearing, reproduction, and genetics.

The position will require the individual to work as part of an account team, therefore communication, collaboration and teamwork are essential skills for the role.


Core Responsibilities

Planning

  • Maintain high level of expertise with the evolving portfolio of products, e.g. Clarifide Plus., services, pricing, competition, market and industry trends
  • Develop and maintain territory plans in collaboration with Veterinarians, ABMS and Account Managers
  • Ensure customer information and call reports are continuously updated through CRM system
  • Align activities and account plans to marketing programmes and management direction in line with the Solution Selling model
  • Analyse and interpret actual and potential territory/customer sales and growth opportunities to support delivery of sales targets
  • Plan and deliver necessary product and sales training to reps of external partners.

Relationships

  • Develop mutually beneficial and productive longterm partnerships with external partners e.g.
WWS/NMR and farmers based on high quality planning.

  • Establish a matrix of touchpoints for the external partners and farm customers, to partner with their vet and the Zoetis sales and field technical teams.
  • Relationships will be built indirectly via external partners with farmers.

Call activity

  • Deliver call activity in accordance with agreed KPIs to achieve the required coverage and frequency with identified target customers
  • Align with external parties on required existing customer contact following each proof run (3x per year).
  • Ensure clear and specific objectives exist for each individual call
  • Deliver relevant marketing messages, product information and programmes consistent with management direction in line with Solution Selling model
  • Proactively identify customer opportunities and capitalize on them
  • Coordinate with colleagues in order to achieve positive changes to the customers understanding and use of our portfolio of products, services and pricing
  • Accurately record call activity in the CRM system, in line with company guidance
  • Ensure clear and timely follow up plan is in place and actioned
  • Attend local trade shows with external partners to promote Zoetis brand and products.

Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of business conduct and compliance, adhering particularly to Pharmacovigilance Policy, Global vet Policy, Zoetis values, travel & expenses policy and local codes of practise
  • Maintain accurate business records including CRM and communicate effectively with the Area Business Manager and other stakeholders
  • Manage allocated customer support budget with tight control to avoid overspends

Key Skills
Capability in, or potential to develop;

  • Clear and concise communication skills. Ability to present complex technical ideas to dairy producers in quick and easytounderstand concepts
  • Ability to diagnose inadequacies in process, people and protocols that cause suboptimal performance on key dairy production practices
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Collaborative mindset and to have open and effective communication with a range of Zoetis account team members.
  • Understanding objectives and measures of success for key farm stakeholders, and how to position ideas and interventions as favourable drivers of success
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key industry influencers such as veterinarian consultants, nutritionists, AI representatives, and other allied industry representatives consulting with their aligned dairies.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to selfmonitor progress towards goals and adapt approaches where necessary

Training & Qualifications


No minimum level of education or qualification is required for this role but a veterinary or animal science qualification is desirable.


Experience
3+ years of related experience including agricultural sales/account management, dairy husbandry, dairy genomics, general dairy management experience.


Travel Requirement
High frequency of travel within designated region. Drivers Licence required
