    Description

    Job Purpose

    To provide efficient and effective Maintenance support to the DC, ensuring that the services and the appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards.

    To be responsible for the management of all equipment repairs and servicing, whilst upholding Health and safety standards throughout the DC, working with, monitoring, and managing external contractors and their activities.

    Duties and responsibilities

    MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

  • To be the first line contact for all site maintenance issues and manage priority repairs to resolution and update members of the Leadership Team as required.
  • To be on hand for out of hours maintenance related emergencies, for advice and support where required.
  • To ensure equipment is efficiently and effectively operating, adjust as necessary, repair where/if possible and report defects and malfunctions to a designated contractor when/if required.
  • To undertake decoration repairs, projects, and redecoration tasks as appropriate.
  • First line maintenance of fixtures and fittings. Minor repairs as a temporary measure where needed. Minor repairs to fixtures and fittings.
  • Minor improvements such as the erection of shelves, displays and notice boards.
  • Advise and/or undertake, where appropriate, maintenance projects.
  • Basic Plumbing - Unblocking sinks, traps, and waste pipes. Adjustment of taps and Stopping leaks.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Contractors and service visits where required and be point of contact for site.
  • Maintain a high standard of Health and safety in the workplace whilst on the job and be a role model for the site.
  • RESOURCES

  • To monitor and control stock levels of consumable items and Maintenance parts, setting levels and re-ordering, when necessary whilst ordering supplies for the operations team on request.
  • Use computerised Maintenance software (when introduced) to manage all maintenance issues on site and provide management feedback.
  • RELEVANT EXPERIENCE- But not limited to:

  • Maintenance of buildings or premises.
  • Maintenance of plant and machinery that is transferrable to the role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice – health and safety.
  • Ability to use a range of tools and equipment, ensuring safe handling and storage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with internal and external personnel, contractors and suppliers is desirable.
  • Flexible approach to working patterns.
  • Education / Qualifications/ Key Skills:

  • An Engineering qualification beneficial, but not essential.
  • Electrical Qualification/skills preferred, but not essential.
  • Confident Numeracy and Literacy skills.
  • Good Communicator/Confident speaker
  • Any additional qualifications pertinent to a maintenance/site services-based role desirable.
