    The Engineering Team Lead is is responsible to provide effective design solutions in the relevant product line portfolio across the complete engineering lifecycle, from design development to end of life. You must guarantee that the team is producing engineering solutions that adhere to the engineering strategy, governance framework, and procedures as well as satisfying safety, cost, quality, schedule, and compliance standards, the job incumbent needs to possess a certain level of management and leadership.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee an engineering team that complies with regulatory compliance standards and delivers to the strategy, governance structure, systems, and processes.
    • Exercise technical leadership, contribute to engineering design throughout the relevant product line's engineering lifecycle, and take responsibility for the technical approvals carried out by their teams.
    • In charge of keeping technical documentation and product designs up to date so they adhere to the most recent laws, rules, and standards.
    • Charged with completing the engineering scope and deliverables on time and under budget, following current engineering procedures. Maintaining engineering reports on scheduling, capacity and resource planning, performance reporting, and the status of corrective actions will fall under this category.
    • Communicate with internal departments to ensure the right technical solution and requirements are given and examined, including sales, supply chain, production, HSEQS, and bids.
    • Monitoring and developing the team, providing mentorship, allocating resources in accordance with business requirements, hiring, onboarding, conducting assessments, assigning and delegating work, adhering to internal and external standards and regulations, and managing day-to-day operations like approving vacations, sick days, and timekeeping.
    • Close communication with engineering counterparts Team leads should promote resource sharing when needed, teach best practices throughout engineering, and push for ongoing advancements.
    • Oversee and assist with system safety evaluations, safe product design, validation, and certification, technical risk registers, mitigation plans, and team adherence to company safety policies.

    Required knowledge, expertise, and abilities include:

    • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant work experience.
    • Professional or post-graduate credentials, such as chartered engineer status, are preferred.
    • Product Lifecycle Management system experience generated and maintained engineering packages.
    • Product design and/or engineering system design integration experience.
    • Solid understanding of fundamental engineering concepts
    • Has expertise managing and collaborating with a wide range of disciplinary teams.
    • Aware with global quality and safety requirements (ISO 9001, 45001, etc.)
    • Acquainted with adhering to classification society regulations and maritime/defense standards (LR, DNV, DEFSTAN, etc.)
