    About the Role

    Base Location : Inverness or Aberdeen. Other locations within Highland / North East Scotland will be considered.

    Salary: £49,559 - £56,757 + car / allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

    The duties and responsibilities of the HVDC Operations Engineer are:

    Assist with, and be responsible for aspects of, the operation and maintenance of the Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission (SHET) HVDC Caithness Moray network and the future HVDC Caithness Moray Shetland network ensuring safe, flexible and secure HVDC transmission and STATCOM operations.

    Working closely with the HVDC Operations Manager and other HVDC Operational Engineers, and also with various HVDC Project engineers, HVDC Subject Matter Expert, HVDC Senior Authorised Persons (SAP, and HE (Hitachi Energy ) Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) personnel, you will assist with the maintenance, inspection and fault response / repair of the HVDC scheme.

    Assist the HVDC Operations Manager with the Project Management of any future Subsea Cable Asset Surveys associated with Operational HVDC assets and with the management of Cyber Security maintenance works on the existing CM HVDC link and the future CMS multi terminal scheme.

    Responsible for a range of administrative tasks associated with the Operation and Maintenance of the existing CM HVDC link and future CMS HVDC Multi Terminal Scheme. You will assist the HVDC Operations Manager in activities associated with future HVDC Construction projects.

    May be asked to undertake other duties, training and/or hours of work by the HVDC Operations Manager, as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility associated with this position.

    What do I need?

    To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

    Understanding of the Distribution and / or Transmission business and the relevant interfaces.

    Management experience in the delivery of successful operations and maintenance within a similar role/environment.

    Experience of managing teams in a utility / engineering environment.

    Experience and understanding of the management of contractors.

    Proven track record of delivering targets.

    Please note applications will also be considered from electrical engineers with less specific experience, with a starting salary commensurate with experience levels. Training and development will be provided to ensure continuous progress.
