As a Barclays Data Analyst you will be working on preventing and resolving fraud in various customer interactions with products of Barclays.

You will be part of the Data Analysis function within the Fraud Data Platforms team.

Responsible for the analysisof Fraud Data demands, contributing to solution design and capturing requirements for resolution of a complex set of flows; alongside accountability for alignment to governance and provisioning of core data management principles.

Hybrid Working

What will you be doing?:


  • Working with the Product Owner, Lead Data Analyst and business SME's to develop high level design docs, process flows etc. into detailed technical requirements
  • Using your understanding of high level design to define Data Requirements to enable engagement with engineers and development teams
  • Creating and maintaining Data Dictionaries, Metadata, Data Lineage, API Catalogues and interface inventories in line with standard Data management artefacts across Fraud tech
  • Being responsible for a technical analysis of data migration projects to cover database and table level details, reconciliation, SAS process migrations etc.
  • Providing recommendations for data improvement, quality and efficiency of data
  • Working with large datasets on data extraction, cleaning, analysis and presentation
  • Providing ongoing support through analysis and build phase
  • Supporting daily stand ups, retrospectives, showcases etc. where required with the rest of the sprint team

What we're looking for:


  • Handson experience with SAS software, performing adhoc analysis and BAU reporting
  • Data analysis or data focussed Tech BA role experience
  • Possess the ability to speak on both technical and business terms
  • Familiar with data platform capabilities like data ingestion (ETL vs CDC), data lake, data warehouse, data marts, data science

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • SAS Certified Base and/or Advanced Programmer and/or certifications
  • Handson experience in approaches and tools for data streaming, ETL, data quality, data reconciliation, data processing, data warehousing preferably on AWS
  • Experience in batch and realtime warehousing
  • Demonstrable experience working with and influencing senior business stakeholders developing an understanding and getting buyin for data governance

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.

This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff.

The office location is perfect for travel from the midlandsand London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
