Salary Range (if offered perm): £26,000 - £28,000 per annum
Starting hourly rate:
£15.15 per hour PAYE including holiday
Contract Length:
Initial 6 months with possibility of permanent position (TEMP TO PERM)

Are you passionate about working outdoors and providing a vital service to the local community? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you We are seeking a Cemetery Grounds Operative to join our team at a Victorian Catholic Cemetery in London NW10.
This role involves maintaining and enhancing the cemetery grounds, assisting with grave preparation, and ensuring the site remains a peaceful and presentable place of quiet reflection.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Cemetery Foreman to carry out a high level of grass strimming and mowing, ensuring grass cuttings are collected and cleared from headstones and memorials.
- Assist with grave preparation and surrounding area maintenance for funeral services.
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as removing headstones, topping up graves, and realigning unstable memorials.
- Keep the cemetery tidy, free of litter, and ensure bins are regularly emptied.
- Provide assistance and support to visitors and the general public, especially mourners, with empathy and sympathy.
- Ensure personal and others' safety by following health and safety guidelines and reporting incidents, accidents, and faults.
- Safely operate plant and equipment with care and precision.
- Take responsibility for issued equipment, protective clothing, and supplies.
Essential Requirements:
- Full clean driving licence (PREFERRED
- NOT ESSENTIAL)
- Previous experience in cemetery operations (desirable but not essential).
- A handson, hardworking, and helpful attitude.
- Willingness to work outdoors throughout seasons.
- Dexterity and physical fitness to perform strenuous and repetitive tasks.

- Willing to undertake onthejob training and gain qualifications in grave digging with a machine.
