About the role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team at Ocado's Newest Customer Fulfilment Centre in Luton, Bedfordshire.

As a Controls Engineer, you will play an integral part in keeping Ocado moving. You will be responsible for day-to-day reactive and planned engineering activities and improvement works.

Responding to hardware faults, you will activate a pre-defined workaround or temporary modifications to PLC code, and work with the automation control team to diagnose and deploy the required code fixes.

You will provide frontline support, investigating issues with the live production control systems (hardware and software), including the use of relevant diagnostic tools such as Profibus / Can Bus networks and Bar Code Readers.

You will put your analytical skills to the test, looking at data and solving problems to improve MHE performance.

About you

You are a highly competent Engineer, with experience working in a warehouse, distribution, production, or FMCG environment, with hands-on experience of automation hardware and software.

You are an expert in PLC control system architecture and field control devices, with good knowledge and understanding of Electronics circuits and DC motor controls.

You will be comfortable with online code monitoring, modification and development with Siemens TIA S7 and have an understanding of Control System Communication Protocols such as WCS and WMS systems.

You are customer focused, and thrive on delivering results in time critical situations.
