Due to expansion, they are now looking to recruit a Strategic Logistics Manager to their creative, friendly and passionate team.
This role is focused on reviewing, advising on and improving the logistics around our pallet flows and network in order to meet the strategies and goals of the business, as well as leading on collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
Duties will include:
Produce and review the logistics strategy to ensure our direction is inline with
the overall business approach
Support in defining the logistics operation maturity potential based on the
business strategy and ensure operations are performing to their potential in a simple and sustainable way.
Carry out gap analysis to identify areas of strategic weakness.
Regularly review the transport network to ensure customer supply and maximise
utilisation in our depot network in the most efficient way.
Ensure the required logistics infrastructure is in place to meet changing business
needs.
Ensure the logistics strategy is aligned with our approach to sustainability.
Be accountable for production and implementation of appropriate strategies
Manage end to end process for customer, retail and haulier collaboration:
- Investigate the strategic impact;
- Manage onboarding process;
- Agree Metrics;
- Hold regular Reviews;
- Strive for Continuous Improvement;
- Be an escalation point for all parties involved.
Ensure up to date and accurate reporting is produced and circulated to
appropriate stakeholders as required.
Be accountable for annual cost, mileage and Co 2 savings, through collaboration
agreements.
Ensure that the most cost effective and efficient transport schedule is produced.
Ensure deliveries/collections are completed on time and to requirements.
Maintain service levels to customers and collection points.
Head continual improve projects and initiatives.
Encourage and ensure best practice is followed within the logistics team.
Work proactively in developing supplier relationships and opportunities.
Support negotiations relating to costs within the parameters set by the manager.
Ensure that we are meeting our customers' requirements and work towards continuous improvement.
Logically analyse, collate and process complex information in a structured
manner, drawing conclusions that enable appropriate decisions to be reached.
Report weekly/monthly financial and operational performance
Finalise monthly KPI's drawing conclusions and justifications for presentation to
the team and management.
Prepare and present review packs and lead haulier reviews at regular intervals.
Support the Head of Logistics to produce annual budgets and deliver results
according to these budget.
Monitor expenditure verses agreed budget.
Maintain and re-enforce strong relationships with network partnerships.
Maintain positive professional working relationships with all business contacts in a problem-solving environment.
Build, manage and maintain strong inter-departmental relationships and
communication within the organisation.
Work in partnership with other team members to deliver a high standard of
service which promotes positive and continuing customer relationships.
Support training and development of all team members
Support Logistics Management Team with haulier recruitment.
Maintain the highest standards of work and professionalism at all times.
Educated to A-Level (or equivalent experience).
Have extensive experience within a fast paced logistics environment
Have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
Good geographical knowledge of the UK & Eire
Have strong interpersonal skills, including being approachable, listening,
influencing, verbal and written communication.
Be self-motivated with a desire to achieve high standards and growth
within the team.
Have the ability to inspire others to work with drive and energy.
Have strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Ability to balance conflicting priorities and to work in a pressurized
environment.
