Job overview:
Main duties of the job:
Take your place with us providing specialist triage, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and discharge recommendations to a range of children and young people with varying needs.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with children and families, other team members and health and education staff.
You will have excellent organisation and prioritisation skills. You will work in clinics, education settings, children's centres and family homes. You will drive continuous improvement with your innovation and passion for developing new ways of working.You will have strong presentation skills and enjoy delivering training to the wider children's workforce about a range of communication difficulties, including developing, evaluating and adapting training packages.

Essential Qualifications:
Essential criteria:
- Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
- Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses
Knowledge, Skills, Training an:
Essential criteria:
- Relevant experience at undergraduate/post graduate level
- Well established knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the client group.
- Experience of diagnosing language impairment.
- Well established knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group.
- Good auditory discrimination skills and ability to transcribe speech phonetically
- Good organisational skills and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrates good analytical and reflection skills
- Well established knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to the client group.
- Demonstrates ability to be a good team member
Desirable criteria:
- Knowledge and experience of working with children with Autism
- Knowledge and experience of working with children with Complex Needs
