Job descriptionAbout the role:
The team you'll work within forms part of Powys County Council's Engineering Design Service which employs around 50 dedicated staff, comprising academically and professionally qualified engineers, technicians, and ecologists.
You'll need to be an enthusiastic member of the engineering design team, working with other Engineers and Technicians on a broad range of engineering projects. You'll provide your expertise upon a range of structures and highways civil engineering projects and assist in delivering a portfolio of schemes to programme and budget.

Highway Design & Maintenance. Structural/Bridge Design & Maintenance. Structural Inspections. Structural Assessments. Road Safety Audits. Traffic Engineering. Transport Engineering. Flood Alleviation. Drainage. T98 Inspections. Infrastructure Engineering. Environmental/Ecology Impact Assessments. Protected Species Surveys. Geotechnical Engineering. Development Control Advice. Project Management. Contract Preparation/Procurement & Administration. Site Supervision. CDM advice. Principal Designer role. Topographic Surveys. Etc.

About you:
What you will do:
You will work upon a broad range of projects for numerous clients within the authority and beyond.
You will get involved with engineering projects; providing designs and technical advice, producing and approving design calculations, contract drawings and documentation and undertake contract management and site supervision when required.
You will have an understanding of the NEC4 contact and have a good understanding of construction best practice and site management.
You will have a good appreciation of the roles and requirements under CDM and be committed to Health & Safety matters upon your projects both at design and construction phases.
