Description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with a strong background in exercise to join our team at an exciting stage of our development, as we integrate Respiratory Services across Gloucestershire.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a flexible and motivated individual to influence the interventions that our team offer and be actively involved in shaping our service at this time of change.

This job will involve travelling around the beautiful county of Gloucestershire and will involve some lone working.

Gloucestershire Respiratory Service is a county wide integrated service linking in with primary care and secondary care services.

There are four arms to the service which are:

  • Home Oxygen assessment and management including the use of blood gases to direct treatment decisions (under clinical supervision)
  • Respiratory Assessment and treatment
  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation
  • Physiotherapy Clinic for patients with suspected breathing pattern disorders and sputum retention problems
The role does include clinical, administrative and clinical audit duties and therefore good technology and communication skills are essential.

There is clinical supervision within the role and many learning opportunities via in-house and external training courses.

A valid UK driving licence plus the use of own transport for business purposes is essential.

We are supportive of the people we care for in the community and aim to provide a fully responsive service to everyone who needs it.

This is the same approach we take for our employees.

We look to value the skills and experiences of those we work with, whether they are service users, carers, families or those looking to work with us.

In addition, the service supports a model of hybrid working encompassing working from home and our base at Southgate Moorings.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is part of the NHS. We treat NHS patients according to NHS principles and standards.

The difference is the Trust is accountable to local people, rather than to Government, and so we are able to work closely with our community to develop services in the way that best suits the needs of local people.

In addition, working alongside our Respiratory Practitioners, you will help to plan and implement treatments for patients on a one-to-one basis.

You will visit patients in their homes and class settings (including virtual), working together with colleagues to deliver education and exercise programmes.

As well as working with other team members, this role does involve some lone working.

Other aspects of the role may involve interventions to help decrease breathlessness, manage oxygen therapy, clear secretions and increase quality of life for patients with COPD, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Asthma and Bronchiectasis.

The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
