Defence Training
The Resource Operative role is based within our Defence Training business area.


The role

The difference our new Resource Operative will make
As a Resource Operative you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Providing Combat Engineering support services to military training activities and Resource Management services to support the wider Contract.


Day to day, you'll support the delivery of Combat Engineering Support services to the applicable training courses; including transporting, erecting and dismantling of equipment; sentry duties; watermanship safety.

Deploy in support of military training exercises of up to seven days.

Support the delivery of Resource Management services such as Snow and Ice Clearance (SNIC), storage areas, damage control and porterage as direct by Line Management.

Demonstrate interoperability by supporting other departments during non-peak times. Deal with day to day customer queries in a professional, positive and enthusiastic manner. Carry out level 1 & 2 and other technical maintenance in accordance with Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs). Support department requirements for audits and inspections including preparation of equipment and remedial actions. Support the continuous improvement of the department and contribute towards the RSME contracts continuous improvement targets. Support internal audits (planned and unplanned). Ensure health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures are implemented and complied with at all times. Comply with all Quality Assurance processes and procedures. Deputise for the Resource Supervisor when required.

Essential experience

  • Experience of manual handling
  • Ability to swim
  • Driving license suitable for use within the UK
  • Mechanical Handling Equipment Forklift license
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • Qualified First Aider
  • You must have the ability to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance
