About the role


As a Building Services Assistant you will be able to learn new skills and gain experience in the world of facilities, maintenance and building services.

You will receive practical skills training in different aspects of facilities maintenance and building services, including assisting with event preparation, painting and handyperson duties in our state-of-art building.


Further qualifications are not an entry requirement, so this role could be suitable for someone at an early stage in their career, that is looking for a hands-on role.

The position is offered as full-time employment with occasional evening and weekend work included in the work pattern.


Responsibilities

  • Event and meeting set up, assembling and repacking furniture and equipment for a variety of building activities.
  • Movement of equipment and deliveries in the building.
  • Learning and undertaking basic maintenance and fabric repair tasks.
  • Building upkeep tasks such as painting and window cleaning.
  • Following Health and Safety requirements for all activities

Key Selection Criteria

  • Aptitude for building maintenance and fabric repair tasks and willingness to learn a range of practical skills to a high standard
  • Interest and aptitude to work in a Facilities support role in a modern arts building with event hire spaces
  • Aptitude for working to a brief for room set up and event preparation, including furniture assembly and breakdown
  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally or in writing.
  • Ability to work to and support a culture of continuous improvement
    and
    respond positively to feedback and guidance
